STRANGE BUT TRUE!

I could remember one experience that I had some time ago and this made me vow that, no matter what, I must endeavor to leave the house early enough to go to work. Leaving house very early to work has become normal to me. Initially, it was pain, but when I considered the time wasted and the trouble I had to go through with Lagos traffic jams, I’m reassured that leaving early to work is worth the while.

I woke up one morning at about 4.30 a.m. As usual, I went straight to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, had my bath and got dressed for work. I stopped by the kitchen to drink some water (I do this most mornings. Someone told me that it is good for the health.)

When I got downstairs, I hung my suit in the back of the car, entered the car, got it started and zoomed off to work. I made it early to work that day. I stayed in the car for a while. When it was time to get into my office, I reached out for my shoes where I usually keep them in the back of the car and I couldn’t find them. All of a sudden, I remembered that I dropped them while I was about drinking water in the kitchen and I forgot to pick them up when I finished.

I had to go back home. By the time I made it through the traffic jam and back to the office, it was about 10.30 a.m. It was a stressful experience! The painful thing to me was that I had to follow the crowd. When they moved, I moved, and when they stopped, I stopped. I hate following the crowd especially the type we have in this part of the world. It’s so disorganized, and rowdy, and you get to see the manifestations of selfishness and foolishness at their highest peak.

When you follow the crowd, you lose control and face delay compulsorily! Following the crowd makes a slave out of you. Thank God mine was a one-off thing. It is sad to know that there are many who experience this on a daily basis. As it is with the physical, so it is with the spiritual. Jesus once said that, if you do not understand the physical things, how can you understand the spiritual?

The display of foolishness, the manifestation of selfishness, disorderliness, rowdiness and delays are as a result of “spiritual traffic jams” in men’s hearts.

The Truth

Justifies

For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth…”-2Cor.13:8

The WOMAN, everyone is looking for.

I observed that all women are selfish, wayward and prudent. Hey! Don’t be too quick to react. You need to read through this write up for you to know I have your interest at heart. These are major spots in a woman’s life that you cannot wash away no matter the detergent.  You neither bleach them with the best bleaching cream nor cover up with the best make-up in town. But there is only one thing you can do with them. Most women major on selfishness (while waywardness and prudence are elementary); many major on waywardness (while selfishness and prudence are elementary) very few major on prudence (while selfishness and waywardness are elementary)
You can know a selfish (major) woman, by the kind of pictures she posts on face book. They are usually sensual. She appears sexy and unruly about it. If she’s got it, why can’t she flaunt it? She is also wise because she knows culture –wise, as a lady, if you want to have control of power; you’ve got to be sexy!
You can know a wayward (major) woman by the stuff she writes on face book or her views about life. They are usually manipulative. She is better at her game than the ‘selfish major woman’. She knows that, to be in full control, and in addition to being sexy, you got to have ‘swag’. She believes you can get it, without really flaunting it. How? Rebellion! She is a rebel.
You can know a prudent (major) woman, by the way she reacts to what people say or write about her looks or her manipulative tendencies. She is spiritual. She says, don’t flaunt, it! No don’t be manipulative! Let God take control or whatever would be, would be! Is that you?
The one thing all women need is the know-how of striking a balance between appearance, knowledge and spirituality. Every woman needs a bit of selfishness, waywardness and prudence to function fully as a woman.
The world (everyone) is looking for the woman who’s got the MIX! Being sexy alone or manipulative or spiritual alone cannot give the woman her place or space in the world.

Advanced Forgiveness

You cannot talk about forgiveness without two other factors- a knowing; and acceptance. It is very easy to forgive when you know the nature of the offender and also acceptance of the offender (not the offense). Forgiveness is not an end in itself but a means to an end. The end is CHANGE. God forgave us our sins; He does not expect us to remain in sins. He expects us to change, to quit sinning.
I practice advanced forgiveness like my Father. I know and I have come to accept that it is the nature of man to offend. As a change agent, my weapon for change is forgiveness. Anyone that rejects forgiveness and refuses to change will die naturally! No need for revenge.

I should have bought him 12 loaves of bread

There was this friend I had in those days when things were a bit ‘rough’ for both of us. He wanted me to buy him a big loaf of bread. As I was going to pay for one, he requested for another. I declined his request and only paid for one. Honestly, I could afford to pay for another loaf but I refused because I felt he was asking for too much.
Few years after, as I was going to have my lunch at an eatery, someone shouted out my name from inside a brand new jeep car. When I looked closely, it was him, the guy that requested for another loaf of bread. I said in my mind, I should have bought him 12 loaves of bread!
You are created for your neighbor’s safety. Maybe, if you know how my tomorrow will be like, you would change your attitude towards me. Life is supposed to be the other way round. Make an IMPACT in someone’s life today.
